The humanoid robot becomes a personal trainer and, thanks to the use of artificial intelligence (AI), is able to help a person during a free-body training session, correcting errors, counting repetitions and recording performances.

The project was led by a team of students from the Alta Scuola Politecnica of Politecnico di Milano and Politecnico di Torino, who worked on software development and, in part, hardware development of the robot Pepper, as part of the business programme of the School of Entrepreneurship & Innovation – SEI.

The project has been considered one of the best of the Alta Scuola Politecnica’s 15th cycle and some team members have recently founded the startup Gymnasio, exploiting the acquired know-how in the sector of home fitness.
