One of the projects awarded with the Eni Joule for Entrepreneurship mention is Bi-Rex, a start-up founded by Monica Ferro and Greta Colombo Dugoni, two researchers from the Department of Chemistry, Materials and Chemical Engineering “Giulio Natta” of Politecnico di Milano. The project is about an eco-sustainable treatment of biomass to recover high added value products, such as cellulose, lignin, chitin.

Bi-Rex has already led to four patents and the winning of important funding: Switch2Product’s € 30,000 grant, the acceleration path within PoliHub and a pre-seed grant of € 160.000 from the investment fund Poli360, managed by 360 Capital Partners.
