Carlo Ratti, Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston where he founded and directs the MIT Senseable City Lab, is Visiting Professor this year at the Department of Architecture, Built environment and Construction engineering at the Politecnico di Milano.

Today, the Professor inaugurates the course “Strategic vision for the building engineering for the future” with an open lecture “Senseable City: Data-Driven Urban Research”.

The course, which uses hybrid teaching methods that involve both students at the Politecnico and colleagues at the MIT Senseable City Lab, will focus on analysing how studying big data can be a very useful way to explore the hidden laws governing the dynamics of urban living in large contemporary cities.
