The Margherita Hut (Capanna Osservatorio Regina Margherita) is located 4,556 metres above sea level, on the Punta Gnifetti summit of Monte Rosa. It is the Europe’s highest mountain hut. A project by the Politecnico di Milano aims to refurbish the building in the name of environmental and energy sustainability, safety, accessibility and services.

Graziano Salvalai, professor of Energy efficient buildings, tells us about his research: https://www.frontiere.polimi.it/at-the-sustainable-top-of-europe/?lang=en
