Flying Magic Carpet for Liberty è il tappeto stampato in stile persiano nato come tributo alle vittime delle proteste in Iran, scoppiate dopo l’uccisione di Jina Mahsa Amini a Teheran. Se da lontano si ammira la grazia della stampa dei celebri decori, avvicinandosi si riconosce la tragica matrice del disegno, formata dai 500 nomi delle persone uccise da una sanguinosa repressione che ancora non si spegne.

Il tappeto è bordato da una serie di asole a cui i visitatori possono annodare messaggi di solidarietà alla richiesta di libertà delle donne iraniane, come è accaduto durante la performance di presentazione.

Progettato da Elena Baharlouei con Anna Barbara, prodotto e sponsorizzato da Gruppo Publionda, Flying Magic Carpet for Liberty rimarrà esposto al Campus Durando, nell’atrio dell’edificio B2, fino al 13 giugno.

È parte dell’iniziativa Design Against War – DAW, per dare voce a progetti, idee e attività degli studenti contro ogni forma di guerra e aggressione.

Flying Magic Carpet for Liberty is a printed carpet in Iranian style created as a tribute to the victims of the protests in Iran, which broke out after the killing of Jina Mahsa Amini in Tehran. If from afar, visitors admire the gracefulness of the print, when approaching, they will perceive the tragic matrix of the pattern, made up of 500 names of people killed by a bloody repression which is not dying down.

The carpet is edged with a series of loops that will hold messages that visitors can tie up to show solidarity to the Iranian women’s demand for freedom.
Designed by Elena Baharlouei with Anna Barbara, produced and sponsored by the Publionda Group, Flying Magic Carpet is installed at Campus Durando, in the atrium of building B2, till 13 June.

It is part of the initiative Design Against War – DAW, giving voice to students’ projects, ideas and initiatives, against all forms of war and aggression.
