Did you know that at Polimi there is a group of male and female students who design ‘flying’ boats? It is the Polimi Sailing Team, which every year participates in the international competition Foiling SuMoth Challenge, in which participants are asked to design, build and test a foil boat capable of rising above the water surface when sailing.
The team members feel a bit like the heirs of Enrico Forlanini, inventor of the hydroplane, and today, after the successes of the past few years, they are aiming for a new phase of innovation: to make the entire stabilisation system of their boat electronic.
We met them to find out more about their upcoming projects. Read what they told us about their work in this interview: https://polimi.it/en/the-politecnico/international-competitions/sustainable-moth-challenge#c78998
