A system studied in the Photonic Devices Lab of the Department of Electronics, Information and Bioengineering of the Politecnico di Milano allows the human eye to see clearly in fog by breaking up a beam of light into several beams: when an object in the fog is illuminated with a suitably disordered light, the chaos effect disappears.

Many other applications are possible: from satellites to supercomputers, from cameras to viewers.
