E’ passato anche dal Politecnico il percorso verso le Olimpiadi di Tokyo di Filippo Ganna, Simone Consonni, Francesco Lamon e Jonathan Milan. In Galleria del Vento hanno effettuato test per ottimizzare le prestazioni dal punto di vista aerodinamico, verificando i materiali e la posizione in sella.

Oggi i ciclisti della squadra italiana di inseguimento su pista hanno vinto la medaglia d’oro, stabilendo il nuovo record del mondo.
