Working with therapists and operators, the project “Therapeutic Habitats” by Professor Alessandro Biamonti (Department of Design) proposes a concept in which a series of physical, perceptive, relational conditions allow the best conditions of well-being for people with Alzheimer’s.
The EDME Laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano hosted some Alzheimer’s patients of Genera Onlus for a particular experimentation: within an immersive virtual environment, travel scenarios, nature, urban walks and convivial situations were reproduced, with the aim of instilling well-being and counteracting the possible manifestation of behavioral disorders, anxieties from escape, aggression.
To tell the experience there was also the crew of L’acqua non muore mai (Water never dies), a documentary by Barbara Roganti on the theme of Alzheimer’s, currently under construction.
